This Pippy Poplar table has a jet black epoxy river and was delivered to a happy customer down in London.
Pippy poplar wood is not the most commonly used. Poplar wood is like oak but softer and occasionally, like with this table, it can shimmer in certain lights.
The Pippy woods characteristics are the knots, known as cats paws which are sometimes formed by cattle nibbling shoots as the tree grows.
After sanding the wood we added a jet black resin river, gave it a lovely oil finish and custom made steel legs in a splayed design which is great for dining tables.
The finished table was personally delivered for the customer to an apartment in London.
